About the location
Located on the remote and beautifully unspoilt North Rhins, Seascape Cottage provides the perfect getaway.
Enjoying stunning views towards Ireland, and just a short wander to numerous beaches, rocks and coves, this cosy hideaway provides a warm welcome whatever the weather. The wildlife here will blow you away. Deer will graze nearby as you breakfast, hares hide in nearby gorse bushes, seals will pop their heads out of the bays to greet you, gannets will plunge into the waves, and buzzards and kestrels will hover and swoop in front of you. Porpoises, basking sharks and otters have also been spotted. As for the flora, the landscape is ever changing. The rich golden gorse is complemented by the deep bluebells and squills in spring, quickly replaced by yellow flags, striking pinks, violas and heathers. Miles of coastline are yours to explore and be inspired by.
Nearby are archaeological sites, beautiful gardens including the Logan Botanical Gardens, local artists, the bookshops of Wigtown, and public golf courses, while the quiet roads provide a safe and carefree way to explore by car or bike. The romantic harbour town of Portpatrick with its acclaimed eateries is also well worth a visit.
The cottage is situated down a privately owned unmade lane, and visitors should be aware that the endless miles of coastal walks are not wheelchair or pushchair friendly.
